The Chennai Girl, Gaanam Nair, who went missing on Friday returned home on Monday afternoon. The police had informed the media that she was depressed and seeking a break. The police added that they are still investigating the case.
The online campaign for the girl by her family and friends went viral on social media and was trending from Sunday. After starting to the office on Friday, she was reported missing after her phone was switched off and couldn’t be reached. The campaign garnered over 900 tweets requesting the details of her location.
Gaanam, who also goes by name of Jikki Padhoo, on Facebook, posted a note about her estranged love. She wrote, “A tear rolls down, from both our eyes, at the same time. My lips quivering, crying, I’m trying to prepare you, pulling myself up. But I give up the next minute. You slap me. You slap me crying, desperate, ‘Get up Gaanam, get up.”
The police added that she had marriage related issues with her family and also health concerns. But the issues with family were denied by her relatives.
