Vijayawada: Jaggayyapet in NTR district witnessed tension following a sudden outbreak of diarrhea, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of five individuals. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav promptly visited the area to oversee health camps and monitor the situation closely.

Minister Yadav conducted a comprehensive inspection of the affected areas within the Jaggayyapet constituency, including an assessment of water purification systems at the Jaggayyapet Municipality’s head water works. At the Jaggayyapet Community Health Center (CHC), he interacted with diarrhea patients to evaluate the medical facilities provided to them. District Medical Health Officer Dr. Suhasini was directed to ensure optimal care for the victims.

Additionally, Minister Yadav visited Sitaramapuram, Vatsavai mandal, and Makkapet, engaging with local residents to grasp the specific challenges and conditions prevailing in each area.

After the inspections, Minister Yadav convened a review meeting with officials at the Jaggayyapet Municipal Office. Expressing dissatisfaction with the current response, he criticized officials for their passive approach to the diarrhea outbreak. Emphasizing the importance of proactive measures, Minister Yadav stressed on coordinated efforts among all departments to enhance sanitation, ensure clean water supply, and maintain rigorous monitoring.

He warned of stringent action against any negligence, reiterating the government’s commitment to safeguard public health against seasonal diseases.
