Actor Akshay Kumar is the first amongst the Bollywood fraternity who finally broke his silence over the Manipur Violence.
After months of no discussion and statement about the burning situation of Manipur, Akshay Kumar, finally on the 19th of July condemned a shaking incident reported from violence. Reacting to a viral video of two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur, Akshay Kumar said, “Shaken and disgusted.”
In a Twitter post, Akshay Kumar said, “Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again.”

Besides Akshay Kumar, other Bollywood celebrities also joined him and condemned the Manipur violence against women.
Actor turned politician Urmila Matondkar said,“Shocked, shaken, horrified at Manipur video and the fact that it happened in May with no action on it. Shame on those sitting on their high horses drunk with power, jokers in the media boot licking them, celebrities who are silent. When did we reach here dear Bharatiyas/Indians?”
Another Bollywood actress Renuka Shahane pointed out the Manipur Government’s failure and said, “Is there no one to stop the atrocities in Manipur? If you are not shaken to the core by that disturbing video of two women, is it even right to call oneself human, let alone Bharatiya or Indian!”

Notably, Twitter is flooded with videos of two women forced to parade naked by a mob in Manipur. The women were also allegedly gang raped by the mob on the 4th of May, in a paddy field, said sources. Although the incident occurred on the 4th of May, the video of the incident went viral recently, gaining criticism from netizens, against the Manipur Government and the Central Government.
