Justice Joymalya Bagchi Takes Oath As AP HC Judge

On the 4th of January, Justice Joymalya Bagchi took oath as the Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge. 

J.K. Maheshwari, the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh, administered the oath to Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

Justice Bagchi earlier served as a Kolkata High Court judge and was transferred to Andhra Pradesh.

With this, Justice Bagchi will continue to be second in the seniority of A.P.High Court judges.

Bagchi came to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in place of the recently retired Justice Rakesh Kumar.

Meanwhile, Justice Arup Kumar Goswami will be sworn in as the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on June 6 while the current High Court Chief Justice JK Maheshwari is going to transfer as Sikkim High Court Chief Justice.

The High Court judges will bid farewell to Maheshwari at 3.30 P.M., today.

Justice JK Maheshwari took over as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on October 7 last year. He was earlier served as Madhya Pradesh High Court judge.
