The victim, Boreddy Maruthi Reddy was attacked and cruelly hacked to death on Thursday morning, in Proddatur city, Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place in broad daylight.
Boreddy tried to escape from his attackers but they chased him down and hacked him to death at the busy marketplace. The people watched the incident in horror but nobody came forward to save the victim.
Some of them captured the incident on their mobile phones.
Boreddy, who is from Devagudi village in Jammalamadugu Mandal got separated from his wife two years ago and he had been fighting a case in the court. He is found to be a close relative of Andhra Pradesh Minister, Adi Narayana.
According to reports, the victim had fallen in love with another woman, whose family is suspected to be behind the murder.
From the video, it is evident that one man is holding the victim and another man was slashing the victim with a sickle at least 11 times.
The police rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed about the murder and they shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem. A news channel reported the culprits had been arrested.
