Melbourne: The long pending wish of growing Indian population at Melbourne will come to an end as a Durga temple will be inaugurated on Sunday, 29 November 2015.
The temple is located in Rockbank, near Melbourne, the capital of Victoria state. The construction was under contraction for the last five years. This new temple will provide Hindu’s to worship to an ever-growing population of Indians and other Hindu nationalities in Australia’s second largest city.
The temple will also start conducting popular events including several Hindu festivals like Dussehra apart from holding religious preaching and bhajans.
According to official data, the number of Australian residents who were born in India rose the most, almost tripling from just 1,32,800 people in 2004 to 3,97,200 in 2014. Hindu religion has been identified as one of the fastest growing religion in Australia.
