The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, today.
Speaking about the manifesto 2018, K. Laxman, the BJP State President, said, the manifesto was prepared after seeking the suggestions of experts from more than 15 subject areas such as agriculture, urban development, electricity, irrigation, and education.
K. Laxman said, “Even we have invited suggestions both online, offline. About 4,500 suggestions were received from the people.”
N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, the Chairman of the Declaration Committee, released the manifesto along with Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
Some of the major promises highlighted in the 2018 manifesto are debt waivers of Rs. 2 lakhs to farmers, free borewell and agricultural pumps, free laptops to graduates, bicycles and scooters to girls studying in school and colleges respectively.
The other promises listed in the manifesto are a stipend of Rs. 3,116 per month to the eligible unemployed youths, selection of candidates for government jobs based only on written tests and no examination fee for government competitive exams.
The action plan stated in the manifesto focuses majorly on farmers, women and youth. The BJP also made a special announcement about increasing the retirement age of government employees from 58 years to 60 years.
The BJP released its manifesto, Gaurav Sankalp 2018, for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, on the 27th of November.
The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled on the 7th of December and the results will be announced on the 11th of December.
