Copy Cats

Social Media is not just about likes!

Why copy when they have an original base for themselves?

Snapchat, the new buzz in town is a social media platform that allows you to chat with your friends through pictures. The basic idea of this application was to allow it’s users to click selfies and communicate with their friends. Though in the beginning, it didn’t take off well; Snapchat has now become a buzz around the country.

Other social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook are said to be copying the idea of Snapchat. For instance, Instagram, in the month of August introduced ‘Stories’ on its application where users can post pictures of their daily routine which would exist for 24 hours, like on Snapchat. This feature was nearly identical to Snapchat.

It is also said that Facebook has introduced a new feature of ‘Messenger Day’, this lets the users post pictures and videos which disappear after a day. According to a Tech Crunch report, this feature is now available to the users of Poland. This feature appears on the top of the conversation in Facebook Messenger.

A secondary brief for content that lasts only for a day has been introduced in both these social media outlets which are owned by Mark Zuckerberg. Snapchat is growing widely as a social media outfit with so many options for the users. Will Facebook and Instagram overpower Snapchat is the question?
