When ever we hear the word doctor, a white coat and a stethoscope strikes our mind but, sadly many of us don’t know who invented the stethoscope.
Luckily, Google celebrates the 235th birth anniversary of Rene Laennec, the inventor of stethoscope.
Rene-Theophile-Hyacinthe Laennec,a French physician, invented the stethoscope in 1816, while working at the Necker Hospital.
Laennec was born in 1781 in France, studied medicine and served as a medical cadet in the French Revolution.
Today, the stethoscope is the most recognizable pieces of medical equipment.
