On the 22nd of March, at 5:00 P.M., citizens of India united together clapped and expressed gratitude towards the staff who bravely worked for the citizens of India, during the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech to the Nation about the Novel Coronavirus, called for a 14 hours Janata Curfew which began from 7:00 A.M., on Sunday the 22 of March and lasted till 9:00 P.M.
According to the requests of PM Modi, the citizens of India were asked to extend gratitude to the people like security staff, media persons, doctors, vendors and others serving us. The gratitude was extended by clapping for them for 5 minutes, starting at 5:00 P.M.
Celebrities, politicians, cricketers, singers and all the nationals followed the 14 hours Janata Curfew and self quarantine themselves for a day.
The reason behind the call of the Janata Curfew was to measure the speed of spread of the virus when the majority of citizens would be isolated at their homes. Mr. Modi after the curfew took to Twitter and appreciated everyone for staying inside and abiding by the 14 hour Janata Curfew.
Pawan Kalyan, Tollywood actor turned politician, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) K.Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and others took to their official Twitter handles and posted a videos of themselves clapping for the services of doctors, medical staff, local vendors and other service providers.

However, with these increasing cases of Covid-19, India entered Stage 3 of the spread of disease or is about to enter the 3rd Stage.
If India enters the 3rd Stage, the transmission of the Coronavirus would be no longer limited and would be exposed to community transmission.
Many state governments issued notices of complete lockdown till the 31st of March. IT companies, private companies, public places, taxis, ubers and others are shut down for the safety of the people.
Meanwhile, the citizens of India are advised to stay indoors and follow social distancing strictly for the coming 2 weeks. If any person feels chills, cold, cough, fever, headache or body aches they should immediately contact the nearby medical centres and take the COVID-19 tests.
Till date, India reported 396 positive cases and 7 deaths due to the COVID-19.
