Two former members of the Samajwadi Party (SP,) Sanjay Seth and Surendra Singh Nagar, on the 10th of August, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Both the MPs resigned from the SP during a recent session of the Parliament.
Sanjay and Surendra, who praised the leadership qualities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to join the BJP after the Party’s recent move to scrap Article 370.
Both the leaders said they appreciate the decision of the Modi Government and want to be a part of the BJP.
When Surendra Singh Nagar was a member of the SP, he served as a two time MP, whereas Sanjay Seth is a well known realtor in Uttar Pradesh.
Surendra and Sanjay joined the BJP in the presence of Bhupender Yadav, the General Secretary of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and Anil Baluni, the media head of the BJP.
When asked about quitting the SP, both the leaders said the SP does not serve its foundational values anymore, due to which, they were disappointed with the Party and quit it.
