On the 28th of November, a woman’s family demanded action against a private hospital in LB Nagar, Telangana.
Within 24 hours of being admitted to the Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar, Krishnaveni died.
Due to high fever, Krishnaveni was admitted to the hospital on the night of the 26th of November. However, within 24 hours of treatment, the hospital staff declared her dead and charged the family Rs. 1 lakh.
The hospital authorities first took Rs. 30,000 while admitting Krishnaveni. Later, on the 27th of November, the hospital again asked for the payment of a bill worth Rs. 70,000. However, despite treatment, Krishnaveni died on the same day.
When Krishnaveni’s family members learnt about her death, they filed a case against the hospital and demanded action against it.
The patient’s relatives said the hospital took Rs. 1 lakh from them and demanded more money for handing over Krishnaveni’s body.
On the other hand, authorities of the Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar denied the allegations and said the woman was put on a ventilator and was given injections, both of which were responsible for the expensive medical bills.
The LB Nagar Police Station registered a case and launched an investigation for the same.
