The Collector of Salem district in Tamil Nadu has decided to take steps to prevent children from falling prey to the Blue Whale Game. This comes two days after Vignesh, a 19 year old boy was found dead with a blue whale drawn on his arm.

The game started spreading like wildfire in the country with many youth suicides linked to this game.

Salem Collector Rohini Bhajibhakare was quoted saying, “Parents first need to monitor children and their online behavior. The threat can be controlled if parents and children work on it together. If children are behaving differently, immediately contact psychiatrists or the Child Protection Services.”

She further added, “On our part, we have arranged for a meeting at the district level. The Chief Education Officer, psychiatrists and members of the Child Protection Services will be in attendance. We are going to form a council and handle this matter.”

The game is dangerous as it isn’t an app that can be downloaded but instead its an administration run by a group of people targeting vulnerable and depressed youngsters.

Rohini spoke about the game and said, “On our part, we have arranged for a meeting at the district level. The Chief Education Officer, psychiatrists and members of the Child Protection Services will be in attendance. We are going to form a council and handle this matter
