The Andhra Pradesh Government announced a new online portal, “Your Screen” for affordable movie tickets online.
Launched by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), the new portal would be a relief for movie lovers, as the tickets would be available at affordable prices. The Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation (APSFTTDC) would launch the portal, on the 24th of June.
Mr. T. Vijay Kumar Reddy, the APSFTTDC Managing Director, AP Film Development Corporation, on the 23rd of June, issued a release regarding the launch. The release said the movie tickets would be available at a standard price, with a service charge of Rs. 1.95 per ticket.
The new launch of online ticket facilities under the YSRCP Government would also put an end to the black market and corruption in the movie ticket business, ensuring fair pricing for the middle class and poor people of the State.
It is to be noted, that the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) issued a Government Order (GO) announcing a new movie ticket portal. The YSRCP Government passed the order to set up a State-run website for the online sale of cinema tickets in both single and multiplex theatres. The decision to enter the business of movie tickets was taken to ensure corruption-free ticket selling and tax evasion from private companies.
In addition, the State Government said, the revenue collected from the online portal would be credited directly to the respective theatres. In addition, only 50% of tickets would be reserved for the government’s online portal, whereas 50% of tickets would remain with the theatres and service providers.
