Shakti Bhargava, a citizen of Kanpur, on the 18th of April, threw a shoe at G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, a Member of Parliament (MP) candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party, in New Delhi.
The shoe was targeted at Mr. Rao during a press conference at the Party office, while he was in the middle of his speech.

After an initial interrogation, the Delhi Police said, “Nothing incriminating was found on him and his motive was to gain the media’s attention.”
Shakti Bhargava is a surgeon who works at a private hospital in Kanpur. From his Facebook handle, it was found, he is a critic of the Modi Government.
Mr. Rao said, Shakti Bhargava was an INC supporter and the act was conspired by the INC.
