Top Gear ‘s search for new host completed: Yes, BBC took perhaps their boldest ever step till the date. They finally announced the replacement to the legendary host.

BBC made an announcement on Tuesday that British TV and radio personality Chris Evans will be the new lead host of Britain’s top TV motor show. The network is now trying to project Evans, an auto enthusiast and as “a huge fan” of ‘Top Gear’. According to the reports he signed a three year deal with the network.

This decision came as blow to Jeremy Clarkson die hard fans, as they were still hoping for his return despite Clarkson’s lack of interest.

Evans’ appointment comes after former presenter Jeremy Clarkson was canned in March following reports that alleged he punched a producer in the face during an altercation.

Evans acknowledged the “brilliant minds” who have created the show and the demands of making the “massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless” in his recent tweets. Clarkson’s final appearance on the show will be June 28. The new version of ‘Top Gear’ will start production over the next few weeks.
