Snapchat- the new home for Disney!!

Snapchat all set to collaborate with Walt Disney Inc.

The Walt Disney Co., famously known as the Mouse House, and Snap Inc., the parent company for communications app Snapchat, have agreed to a new deal to have Disney create programming for Snapchat. From January 3,  2017 Disney’s television wing is going to produce multiple original shows for Snapchat mobile service. The first to be aired will be ‘The Bachelor’ spinoff ‘Watch Party: The Bachelor.’ These episodes are assumed to be 3 to 5 minutes long and will be available for 24 hours like all the snap options.

Snapchat users can watch the series in the Discover section. The season finale will be, apparently, produced on Snapchat Live Story. John Frelinghuysen, Executive Vice President of digital media strategy and business development for Disney-ABC TV, about this collaboration said, “We have been exploring ways to tell stories on mobile, and Snapchat was a very exciting canvas for us to work on.” They are also expected to increase the number of stories that will be published in Snapchat.

Frelinghuysen added, “Snapchat inventory may be sold in a bundle with linear TV ad buys, or separately to digital-only sponsors.” Nick Bell, Snap Inc.’s VP of content said, “Disney-ABC have rewritten the rules for how to develop daring, fun and adventurous series for TV, mastering formats ranging from scripted to reality and from drama to comedy.”

In 2016, ABC curated with Snapchat to air Academy Awards in the Snapchat Live stories section. Now this will be the second collaboration between ABC and Snapchat.
