Rahul Gandhi, the Indian National Congress (INC) Chief, addressed a public meeting and expressed his love and affection towards its opposition party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

On the 6th of February, Mr. Gandhi addressed a public meeting in Rourkela, Odisha and said, the INC stands for love and affection and the Party will win over the BJP with the same.

During the meeting, some INC party workers raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, ‘Murdabad.’ Rahul Gandhi stopped the workers from using such words of hatred and advised them to win over the BJP with love and affection. Gandhi further added, love and affection towards everyone is the identity of the INC.

Addressing the Party workers, Rahul Gandhi said, “These words (murdabad) are used by the BJP/RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) people. We, in Congress (INC,) do not use these words as we believe in love and affection.”

Mr. Gandhi, confident about the victory of the INC, said, the Party does not have to spread hatred as the INC will win the elections against the BJP with love.

Gandhi also mentioned about PM Modi’s expression when the INC raised questions regarding the Rafale deal, kisans and the other issues being faced in the Country.

Mr. Gandhi said, “Wherever he (Modi) looks, there is Rafale, kisan, mazdoor and women. Narendra Modi is now being gheraoed by all. There has been change in his face, mood and expressions. We have not done it with hatred. We have questioned him with love. We have done it by using love. We will defeat him.” He further said, “There has been a change in facial expressions of Narendra Modi. He is being surrounded from all corners.”

The INC is expressing its love and affection towards its counterpart, the BJP, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled between April and May 2019 and the major parties contesting are the INC and the BJP.
