OnePlus finally broke the suspense revolving around the launch of its next flagship killer the OnePlus 2. The Chinese smartphone makers have fixed the date on July 27th, where the world will witness the official global launch of OnePlus 2.
To add more excitement to the launch, the makers of OnePlus devices have also teased their VR Headset that will be launched alongside OnePlus 2.
Carl Pei, the Co-founder of OnePlus said that the company is really geared up for the event and is willing to break all barriers with the launch in a virtual reality event. The event is scheduled to be kicked off at 7pm PT that is 07:30am IST on July 27 and will be live streamed across the globe.
“A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship. You’ll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It’s a new way of thinking about a product launch. We aren’t talking at you; we are talking with you,” said Pei.
He said that the OnePlus Cardboard perfectly complements the OnePlus’ smartphones and it is also easy to assemble. He further said that they are not willing make business on the sales of VR Cardboard and it is instead costing them more that the selling price. He said “We didn’t cut any corners on production, and we’re definitely losing money on this. But, we want to share them with everyone,”
Though there is no detailed information regarding the specification and pricing of OnePlus 2, the company has been releasing its information in bits and pieces. Lately, it confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will sport the latest Type-C USB and a powerful Snapdragon 810 in the smartphone.
