Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy, the Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD,) asserted that the Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD hospital would have expertise and state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities.
On the 30th of June, addressing the media, Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy said the TTD run BIRRD hospital is capable of handling critical surgeries and would be a national level referral hospital. The statement came during the inauguration of the three day Operative Arthroplasty Summit in Tirumala on the 30th of June, Friday.
Speaking about the summit, Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy said, “Such summits are rarely held in the country with just 10-12 live surgery sessions. But the BIRRD summit has scheduled 22 live surgeries in three days by top 20 ortho surgeons of the country and nearly 200 surgeons are attending the conference, which is very helpful for exchange of skills and new concepts.”
The BIRRD hospital is conducting several such critical operations including cerebral palsy surgeries free of cost. Many medical exponents from across the country have been visiting Tirupati and extending their services for the needy underprivileged people in the Telugu State.
Doctors across India visited Tirumala and participated in the three day Summit organized by the TTD run BIRRD Hospital, which not only provides a platform for medical experts from India, but also provide free medical treatment to the needy people.
