Rajeev Kumar Appointed To Head STF

Rajeev Kumar, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police and Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Central Investigation Department (CID,) was appointed to head the Special Task Force (STF.)

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) ruling Government of West Bengal, on the 1st of March, took the decision of giving the additional charge of the State Directorate of Economic Offence (SDEO) and the STF to Mr. Kumar.

Recently, on the 19th of February, Mr. Kumar, who completed his tenure as the Commissioner of Kolkata, was appointed as the ADG and IGP of the CID.

According to a Home Department official, Mr. Kumar will hold both the positions, DDG and IGP of the CID and the additional charge of the SDEO and the STF.

The decision of the Mamata Banerjee led TMC came after the Central Bureau of India (CBI) accused Rajiv Kumar of being involved in the Sharada Group and Rose Valley chit fund scams.
