Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) suspended its driver Y Prakasam who allegedly killed three people in a bus accident at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) on Monday.
The Assistant Manager of APSRTC Autonagar depot was also placed under suspension. A departmental action is ordered against the depot manager.
A high level expert committee formed by the MD Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao conducted a preliminary enquiry. Sources said that the driver has no knowledge about the advanced AC bus and he used the wrong command to reverse the bus which killed three people including a conductor and a 8 months old infant.
State government responded to the issue and sanctioned Rs.10 lakh ex-gratia to the deceased. Police registered a case and launched an investigation.Free
