In India, the COVID-19 cases have been reducing since the past few weeks.   After reporting a maximum of 4,00,000 single day cases, India’s Wuhan virus cases now reduced to below 1 lakh.  Similarly, deaths also reduced to 2,500 from the previous 4,000 deaths due to COVID-19.

The Union Health Ministry said, the constant efforts of the Indian Government and state governments resulted in battling the second wave of the Novel Coronavirus.  States like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Delhi and Maharashtra imposed a lockdown in their respective states, which is a major reason behind the falling number of the Wuhan virus cases.  With this, India’s recovery rate for COVID-19 also improved to 94.55 %.

Meanwhile,  so far a total of 23,90,58,360 people, including 27,76,096 people in the last 24 hours, have been vaccinated against the Wuhan virus infection in India.  The Central Government is providing free vaccines to the state governments for people above 45 years.  In addition, starting from the 21st of June, the Government of India would provide free vaccines for people above 18 years old also.  The decision to do so was taken to reduce the burden of state governments and to ensure, every citizen of India gets their vaccine doses against the deadly virus
