Vijayawada: Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) conducted surprise raids on a few Spa and message centers in the city and rescued 24 women involved in the sex work.
Usually task force or law and order police conduct raids on the Spa centers. After receiving a number of complaints over illegal activity at SPA centers DGP K V Rajendranath Reddy directed SEB sleuths to conduct special operations.
Special teams with around 62 officers led by SEB IG Ravi Prakash raided around 8 SPA centers at various police station limits in the city. Three women from Bangkok were identified in the raids and rescued.
Altogether 30 people including 25 customers and 5 organizers were arrested. Police registered case at concerned police stations. Sources said that local police were neglecting these SPA centers by taking bribes. The DGP office had kept an eye on these corrupt practices and was heading to take serious action shortly.
