Vijayawada: YSRCP MP candidate Kesineni Nani has voiced his concerns regarding the allocation of the Vijayawada West seat by the alliance. The decision, which initially promised the seat to a BC individual, has now shifted towards a candidate affiliated with the BJP, drawing sharp criticism from Nani.

Expressing his disappointment, Nani highlighted the disparity between the alliance’s initial commitment to allocate the seat to a marginalized BC individual and the subsequent decision to field a candidate from the BJP, whom he referred to as a wealthy individual. He emphasized that during his tenure with the TDP, he had explicitly stated that his daughter, Shweta, would not contest in the West, affirming his dedication to the principle that the seat should be held by a representative from the minority or BC community.

Nani further criticized the move, asserting that it was a mistake to grant the western seat to a BJP candidate. He underscored the importance of ensuring that the candidate elected for the constituency genuinely represents the interests and needs of the local population, particularly those who are economically disadvantaged.

Moreover, Nani cautioned against complacency, urging the electorate to be vigilant and discerning when selecting their representatives. He emphasized the necessity of electing individuals who possess a deep understanding of the local issues and are committed to addressing them effectively.

Looking ahead, Nani hinted at potential political maneuvers, suggesting that Union Minister Sujana Chaudhary may contest for the AP assembly from the Vijaywada West constituency. However, he noted that the official announcement of candidates from the BJP’s assembly list remains uncertain, adding an element of intrigue to the upcoming electoral landscape.
