Despite strict lockdown guidelines and precautionary measures, Telangana reported 52 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
The media bulletin released by the Telangana Government confirmed the cases on the night of the 14th of April.
Though the number is less than the cases reported on the 13th of April (61 cases,) the overall increasing number is a matter of concern. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government along with experts identified 246 containment cluster zones and announced high surveillance and strict rules. Telangana Police are also on their toes, supervising the areas so no individual could violate the lockdown rules.
Besides, Hyderabad specifically has a different action plan to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. The State Government decided to divide the City into 17 units.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana said, “More cases are getting registered in the Greater Hyderabad area. In Hyderabad, there are more chances of the persons with positive cases quickly spreading it to others.”
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has 17 circles and each circle would be treated as one unit, where a police team would be deployed to oversee the precautionary measures strictly.
CM KCR said, “The entire Municipal administration department should involve themselves in the programme to prevent the coronavirus. As on date, there is only one District Medical and Health Officer in Hyderabad city. Appoint senior medical officers to the 17 circles.”
Hyderabad the Capital of Telangana and currently is one of the main spots for the spread of the virus, as the City has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. Out of 52 cases, 33 are reported in Hyderabad, making it the City with the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases. The total number of active cases of Coronavirus infection in Hyderabad is 197.
Meanwhile,Telangana has a total of 644 positive cases, 516 active cases, 110 recoveries and 18 deaths till date.
