Amid the rising temperature and heatwave, the Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to extend the half day schools in the Telugu State.
On the 19th of June, Monday, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led State Education Department issued notice to continue half day schools till the 24th of June. Under the half day school timings, state run schools would run from 7:30 A.M., to 12:00 P.M.
The half day school extension is applicable to all government, aided and private schools. Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, the Commissioner of School Education, issued a press release in this regard.
The schools re opened on the 12th of June for the academic year 2023-2024. Furthermore, ensuring no student suffers heat stroke or weakness, the government schools would serve Ragi malt to children from 8:30 A.M., to 9:00 A.M., and midday meals would be served from 11:30 A.M., to 12 noon, following which the students could go back to their homes.
