Hyderabad: Telangana state government on Monday gave orders to set up the first government engineering college in the state. The college to come up at CM Revanth Reddy’s constituency Kodangal. Kosgi polytechnic college will be upgraded to Engineering college at the earliest.
Burra Venkatesham, principal secretary of the education department, on Monday gave orders to upgrade Kosgi polytechnic college. Orders stated that the college will start functioning from the next academic year 2024-25 and asked officials to make necessary arrangements. Altogether 180 seats will be available in the first batch.
Three computer sciences courses CSC, CSC (I&ML), CSC Data sciences will be introduced. The engineering colleges will function under the roof of respected universities like JNTU, but Kosgi college will function under the department of technical education.
Authorities said that polytechnic courses will also continue at the Kosgi college.
