In China, a donkey was thrown inside a tiger enclosure in a zoo as witnesses watched in shock. The horrifying incident has been filmed on a video which has gone viral.
In this video, at least five men in raincoats are seen pushing the unfortunate donkey into the water. The donkey is seen resisting but is forcibly thrown into the moat around the tiger enclosure at the zoo in Changzhou.
One of the Tigers jumped into the water to grab the donkey. A few minutes later, two tigers attacked the donkey.
The report says that the donkey died after being mauled by the Tigers for almost half an hour.
According to the South China Morning Post, a shareholder in a dispute with the zoo is responsible for the incident. The shareholder planned to sell the animals because the zoo had been incurring losses. When the shareholder was stopped from taking the animals from the zoo, he asked a group of men to throw the animals in the enclosure. The shareholder planned to throw a sheep in the enclosure as well but was prevented by the visitors and the security officials.
The video has sparked anger and annoying reactions online. The culprits were criticized for using the animal for their agenda.
The officials of the zoo said they had launched emergency procedures to control the situation. Further, they said they met the shareholders to have a general agreement to avoid any such incidents in the future.
