Telangana schools resumed offline classes for students of class 8th to 12th from today, the 1st of September.
After a long 18 months of closure, schools witnessed students attending classes. Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, all schools and educational institutions remained closed in the Telugu state of Telangana.
Recently, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, announced to resume offline classes. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, took the decision considering the Wuhan virus situation in the State– as of now the State has below 6,000 active cases.
However, due to the unavailability of vaccines for children below 18 years of age, parents are uncertain about sending their kids to school. Another major reason is the fear of a possible third wave of the Wuhan virus, expected in the month of October.
In addition, the non teaching staff, teachers and students present in the class are following all the norms of COVID-19 strictly. Teachers were seen wearing face masks, seating arrangements were made considering social distancing protocol and sanitization was also done before the classes started.
However, residential institutes and schools are still closed and conducting online classes. On the 31st of August, the Telangana High Court, put a stay order on the reopening of the residential and anganwadi schools in Telangana. The Court issued the stay order until the next week and adjourned the matter.
Meanwhile, besides Telangana, states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and others resumed offline classes in schools.
