Tirumala, March 25: Over 24,000 devotees gathered to participate in the sacred Tumburu Tirtha Mukkoti this year, braving the torrential waters to take a holy bath.

With the auspicious Pournami timings spanning both March 24 and 25, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) facilitated pilgrim devotees to trek the revered Theertham on both days.

On March 24, a total of 15,750 devotees were granted access from 5 am to 3 pm, while on March 25, 8,250 devotees were accommodated from 5 am to 11 am. These devotees engaged in the purifying Tirtha Snanam ritual on the day of Phalguna Poornami.

Extensive arrangements were made to ensure the comfort and safety of devotees embarking on the journey to Tumburu Tirtham.

Food provisions including morning and evening servings of Pongal, upma, milk, and buttermilk were offered continuously on both days. Additionally, Srivari Sevaks distributed Sambar rice, curd rice, tomato rice, and pulihora during the afternoon and night.

The Radio and Broadcasting Department issued frequent announcements guiding devotees on necessary precautions while journeying to Tumburu Tirtham.

Elaborate security measures were implemented by the TTD security department, police, and forest department personnel to ensure the safety of all participants.
